Day 2
Rafting in Voidomatis River / program duration 3 hours
Explore the beauty of the Voidomatis River as it winds its way through the majestic Vikos Gorge. Lined with ancient plane trees and adorned with traditional stone bridges, this enchanting watercourse offers a glimpse into one of Greece's most stunning natural landscapes. Immerse yourself in lush forests, towering mountains, and rugged ravines, all woven together with local culture and tradition—a hidden gem for adventurous travelers seeking authentic experiences. After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, embark on a serene rafting journey along the crystal-clear waters of the Voidomatis River, starting from the Aristi bridge and continuing up to Kleidonia, nestled in the heart of the Vikos – Aoos National Forest.

Experience the tranquil descent of the Voidomatis River, perfect for beginners and seasoned adventurers alike. Admire the captivating scenery adorned with lush vegetation and the clear turquoise waters, known as some of the purest in Europe. For the more daring visitors, take a refreshing dip in the cold river, boasting an average temperature of 9°C year-round. Amidst the journey, pause to explore the historic Agion Anargiron Monastery, dating back to the 16th century.

Day 3
Trekking in Vikos Gorge / program duration 6 hours
After an early breakfast, we drive to Monodendri to commence our 6-hour trek through the Vikos Gorge, renowned as the deepest canyon in the world. Discover the rich tapestry of flora and fauna under the guidance of our expert. In 2016, Vikos Gorge and the surrounding North Pindos National Park have been nominated by UNESCO as a word heritage site. The gorge can be accessed from various points, such as the gravity-defying cliff-face monastery of Agia Paraskevi at its southern end and the ridge-top village of Vikos at the opposite side.

Make your way through the diverse landscape of this 20 km-long gorge, marked by dramatic changes in altitude and breathtaking vistas. Carved over millions of years by the Voidomatis River, the gorge showcases towering limestone and dolomite formations dating back 150 million years. Admire the sheer cliffs rising to an impressive height of 1700 meters, revealing the geological wonders of this ancient terrain. Indulge in a delightful lunch beside the tranquil river, soaking in the serenity of the surroundings. Upon reaching Vikos village, our van awaits to escort us back to the hotel, ensuring a seamless conclusion to your trekking expedition.
